Donhead Publishing sold to Taylor & Francis

(January 2013)

Donhead Publishing was founded in 1990 by Jill Pearce after an editorial career at E & FN Spon and Ashgate, where she commissioned the highly acclaimed and commercially successful Practical Building Conservation series in association with English Heritage. Today Donhead has the market-leading book list in building conservation and its journal, The Journal of Architectural Conservation, is one of the most authoritative international journals in the field.

The programme is aimed principally at professionals and academics and covers several sub-disciplines of the historical buildings field – Architecture and Construction History, Vernacular Building Construction, Traditional Materials and their Application, Surveying and Measurement, and Conservation Issues.

Acting as strategic and financial advisor to Donhead Publishing, Bertoli Mitchell led the negotiations to completion. Donhead will join the Routledge architecture, construction and building conservation list, including such illustrious names as Sir Bernard Feilden, former Patron of JAC, John Ashurst and Jukka Jokilehto.

Jill Pearce of Donhead Publishing wrote: "Bertoli Mitchell did a tremendous job in selling our business. Without their contacts and judgement we could not have achieved such a successful result, and we equally appreciated the calm and assured way in which they led us through all the different and often challenging aspects of the process."
